Why we choose one event over another can vary greatly by individual. One thing we all share is our desire to have a great time doing something we love.
For years now John and I have spent countless hours online looking for the perfect race. So many sites, so many races, so many hours of hunting – not outside running or biking or swimming or just sitting on the beach with a good book. We just couldn’t find a way to determine if an event would be fun unless we happen to meet someone who has participated before. As a result, we often hear about some of the great races AFTER they happen.
When I do the same race for the 5th or 6th time, I often wonder how many excellent races go by that I miss completely. Part of the problem is remembering what it was you heard a year before, who told you about it and where that race was. Then there are the “…is everyone doing this race?” e-mails. It’s more fun when you know you’ll see your friends out there with you, and you can all celebrate your inner athlete afterwards but why does the planning have to make us crazy? It became clear to us we needed more people to share their stories with us and a better way to keep track of it all.
This brings us to the birth of Post Race Party. Post Race Party is not just another site that lists races. We are dedicated to helping you locate and share your ultimate racing experiences. We want to help you find races that match your specific interests, level of experience and of course, your sense of adventure. Truth is, if this site helps you find cool races that means we are finding them too!
How we do this amazing thing for you?
- We continue our hunt for races and post as much information about them as we can.
- We ask you to submit race suggestions and ideas for our hunting efforts.
- We ask you to rate the events listed. We created a custom rating system to ensure we know exactly why you liked a race.
- We collect all your stories and photos, so that others can get a better sense of what the event was like.
- We created an enhanced search function to help you sift through the garbage and find the real treasures out there.
- We allow you to save searches for 2 sports so that as races come up that match your interests, our tracker will let you know of any matches.
- We help you and your buddies or teammates coordinate and plan your adventures. Here is the best part – you can skip all those emails.
- Lastly, we ask race directors to be part of this community. We want them to hear your stories and think about ways they can improve their events. We also figure they could use a little community to share their experiences with each other. That can’t be bad for any us.
