Description:

Tired of the same old neighborhood roads, traffic, bad drivers? Join the off-road runners for a great and unusual training run. See the swamps and wooded areas saved from development. The Hash House Harriers again return to the woods and marsh of Edison. Hashing is not a race but a non-competitive group run which follows an off-road course laid out with baking flour. If you like trail running without the competition of a formal race, this will be a fun switch for you. This is a complex and different course through woods, grass, swamp and marsh. Wear old running shoes. Follow the trail to the finish.

Crazy, fun event.........drinking started very early in the morning. Frozen margaritas or hot spiced wine were available or make your own from the open bar with all kinds of liquor. The weather was only in the 20\'s, so it was freezing cold, but everyone seemed to be dressed in layers. The trail brought us along Route 1, though a car dealer ship, through the woods with muddy streams, past the half frozen Raritan river...........two drinking stops in the woods. Back at Ken\'s he had pizza & subs for everyone. It was wicked cold standing around at the end doing the beer shots. Post race party was across the street at the Green Derby ($5 for guys, free for girls) with more beer, snacks and a Ken Vercammen cake. Lots of Ken Vercammen swag in the goodie bags...........Great day!

FUN, FUN, FUN. This is the first event I\'ve been to where the drinking starts 2 hours before running. Nothin\' like large vodka/oj at 8am. great organization. Good pizza and subs. Some goofy games. and great PRP at the green derby across the street after. \"Freezing cold\" makes it sound scary, but I was dressed properly, so no big deal. Lot\'s of Hash virgins there seemed to have a great time too. It was only about have 1/2 hash, 1/2 on suburban streets. Way to go Ken.

This event is the most fun I\'ve had running since college. The trail course was challenging but not too difficult, & everyone was friendly. The drinks were plentiful before, during, and after the run, and the post race party was a blast. Ken and his staff does a great job entertaining everyone from start to finish. This is a run worth going to, and doing every year!
